Every painting Brett creates is intended to make people think about the relationship they currently have with the environment and to assist them in understanding their important co-dependence with it –– while providing encouragement to actively strengthen that relationship. 

His artwork's intent is to offer an emotional substance as each painting’s focus, regardless of its subject matter. The difficulty is in striking a proper balance between them, as it is often visual content which initially attracts viewer interest.
